| October is "Movement Disorder Awareness Month"
The U.S. Congress declared October as Movement Disorders Awareness Month. The annual designation is intended to help focus attention and highlight the importance of timely, accurate diagnosis and treatment of movement disorders. Did you know that more than 40 million Americans are afflicted with chronic, painful and debilitating movement disorders such as dystonia, Parkinson’s disease, or tremors?
The resolution, introduced by Congressman Danny Davis (D-IL) in October 2005, is a significant milestone that builds on the momentum of recent efforts by many professional and patient advocacy organizations to raise public awareness about movement disorders, including the personal, financial and societal impact of these conditions, and what can be done to better manage them.
Solstice Neurosciences, Inc. is proud to support Movement Disorder Awareness efforts during the month of October and throughout the year.
